The former striker has been asked to take on an ambassadorial role for the club within the East End community and it is as a direct result of his role on our website.
Lee – a relentless campaigner for an end to racism via Kick it Out and Give Racism the Red Card – will be addressing schools in the area and discussing how to develop harmonious relationships and learn how different cultures can ‘give in’ to the local area.
He told us exclusively: “This has come about as a direct result of my involvement with the website and I am absolutely thrilled to be working in the community and particularly the schools. My involvement here was noticed at the club and as a result this opportunity has arisen. I’m thrilled.
“It’s hugely exciting for me to again be attached to this great club – the one I’ve always loved – in a role which is aimed at creating a healthy racial climate in and around the east end.
“There will be reciprocal visits to West Ham by the schools we visit. We have to reduce tension on racial issues and I am really pleased to be starting this job next month.
“It’s madness that we gather on a Saturday afternoon to cheer on a team with several foreigners in it and then have problems of acceptance elsewhere.
“It’s all about respect, tolerance and understanding. It’s great for me to be back and involved.”.

I suggest he's a better pick than Bonds, Brooking et al for this specific role!

You for real balders?
Ever thought that maybe it needed to be someone who actually wants to do the job and as mentioned, an ambassador doesn't just stroll around in London and will be going to places I imagine someone like Hurst wouldn't be seen dead.
As for mentioning Lampard, feel free to remove your head from your arse and remember he hates the club nowadays.
